Bishops Bowl Fishery on the Warwickshire / Oxfordshire border offers a range of fishing across nine lakes and pools on the site of a former gravel works. The lakes vary in size from half to 25 acres, and include specimen, match and pleasure lakes.
Two specimen waters, Mitre Pool and Greenhill Lake, contain carp to 30lbs and pike to 20lbs. Recent catches include a 21lb 2oz pike that was tempted on a sardine by Richard Cook in 2011. Mitre Pool is a five and a half acre reed lined lake with depths over 30 feet. It is a carp runs water that was stocked with 500 carp. If you want to get away from the crowds then head for the relatively unfished Greenhill Lake.
The remaining pools are used for match and pleasure fishing with something for everyone. Some of the lakes have been stocked, whilst others have been allowed to evolve naturally. All the lakes are surrounded by a vast array of flora and fauna, the whole 90 acre site is enclosed by cliff faces, some of which are SSSI.
Bishops Bowl also caters for parties, taster and corporate events. Contact Shaun and Sarah for more information.
